25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Jay County Civic Theatre, in conjunction with Arts Place, Inc., presents the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! This wildly funny show features an eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vying for the spelling bee championship. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens (played by adults) spell their way through a series of words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves!

This show is rated PG-13. It is considered suitable for adults and teenagers. There are songs parents may consider inappropriate for young teens and/or pre-teens. We encourage those who plan to bring their children to use the internet to review the show’s content. Recordings of the show and its music are widely available on YouTube.

Masks may be required. Arts Place mask policies are regularly reviewed based on the status of the coronavirus pandemic in Jay County and the surrounding area.
