Arts Place Locations

Arts Place Jay County Campus

Arts Place Jay County Campus is the premier community arts facility in our area. The center houses the main offices of Arts Place, Inc. Dedicated in 1983, the facility was tripled in space and an expanded campus was added in both 2000 and 2021.

Within the original building, now called the Performing Arts Center, stands Hall-Moser Theatre, the Hugh N. Ronald Gallery and the Weaver Community Gallery, Goodrich Hall, the Young Music Education Wing, and meeting rooms.

The Hudson Center for the Visual Arts, located across the street, is home to the ArtWorks program as well as the Jay County Campus’ industrial gas kiln.

The facilities feature galleries including the Hugh N. Ronald Gallery and the Weaver Community Gallery, added in 2021. Exhibits change every six to eight weeks. Our Exhibits Program focuses on the work of living Midwestern Artists. Other exhibits include interpretive shows and an annual regional student exhibit.

This large lobby showcases the stunning tile relief mural by Rhonda Franklin, Landscape’s Legacy. The 1,800 sq. ft. room provides an ideal location for receptions and dinners.

Educational programming is the cornerstone of Arts Place. Constructed in 2021, the Young Music Education Wing provides several music studios for individual instruction and a rehearsal room. The Hudson Center for the Visual Arts provides two large visual arts studios and houses the 3,000-pound gas kiln.

While Arts Place is designed as an arts facility, it also makes an excellent location for meetings and conferences. Nonprofit organizations can request to use meeting rooms at no charge during our normal operating hours.

Arts Place has spaces available for rent. Those renting spaces must provide a certificate of insurance, Indiana alcohol permit and licensed bartender (if serving alcohol), follow Jay County Health Department guidelines (if serving food), sign a rental agreement, and pay the negotiated rental fee.

Ample parking is available in close proximity to Arts Place, with convenient drop-off and loading zones.

Arts Place Blackford County Arts Center

This facility is the home for area Arts in the Parks classes, ArtWorks, and MusicWorks classes. Exhibits change every six to eight weeks. The facility was dedicated as an Arts Place location in January of 2013.

Over $100,000 was raised from private and local sources to renovate the facility. The impact of this funding was greatly extended by the nearly 1,000 hours of volunteer time dedicated to the renovation. In January 2015, city government transferred ownership of the center, along with the next door property at 111 West Washington Street, to Arts Place.
