Jack Ronald’s Legacy:

Jack Ronald was many things: an award-winning journalist, editor and publisher, free press advocate, community leader, world traveler and poet.

At his heart, he was a lover of art in all forms, collecting and enjoying paintings, sculpture, wood, pottery, glass and music of all kinds. He came from a family who appreciated art and supported local artists.

Jack was particularly fond of plein air painting, dabbling in prismacolor sketches of Jay County landscapes and supporting local plein air artists such as David Dale, Jim Faulkner and Steve McClung among others.

This Paint-Out is an occasion to celebrate plein air painting in the Jay County area, support the artists who enjoy it and keep the memory alive of a long-time supporter.

This event provides artists with plein air painting in Jay County and surrounding areas: Hudson Family Park, Arch Bridge, Floral Hall – Jay County Fairgrounds, Loblolly Marsh Nature Preserve, Bearcreek Farms, Jay County Courthouse, Portland Golf Course, Church of the Most Holy Trinity, and the Fort Recovery fort.
