Emily Goins graduated from Ball State with a degree in harp performance in 2014. Leaving
behind the warmth of her home state of Texas, she continued on to complete a Masters in harp
performance at the University of Michigan in 2015, and returned to Indiana in 2016. Emily
currently lives in Kokomo, IN with her husband Alex and their Australian shepherd named Max.
She teaches harp and piano at the Jay County Campus of Arts Place and the Blackford County Arts Center, teaches harp as an adjunct faculty member at Taylor University, and performs with the Marion
Philharmonic and for weddings and events.
Kathryn Fenstermacher recently returned to east central Indiana after spending eight years in
the Mid-Atlantic, where she enjoyed performing with various symphonies, ensembles, and music
ministries. Originally from State College, PA, Kathryn studied with the Ball State harp studio
while attending Taylor University, from which she graduated in 2013. She currently plays with
the Manchester Symphony Orchestra, has appeared with several university ensembles, and is a
freelance harpist for special events. Kathryn and her husband, Scott, live in Hartford City with
their spicy calico cat, Charlie.
Emily and Kathryn first met through the Ball State harp studio, where they would perform
together in the harp ensemble and at studio recitals. They are delighted to reconnect this year to
present this unique musical program.
